We've adopted a rescue doggie :)
Jan. 3rd, 2012 04:31 pmPlease let me introduce 'Sniff', formally known as Fudge but hubby doesn't like the name - he thinks it a daft name for a dog:
He was a little nervous when we got him from the kennels but he seems to be settling in well. He has obviously had some training as he sits and gives his paw on command, asks to go out into the garden and doesn't try and get on the sofa.
He is a little underweight but we will soon sort that out by giving him regular meals and he will also need a solid rubber ball as he has destroyed the tennis ball already! He seems very placid and is already coming out of his shell a little.
He is two years old, has been neutered, wormed and de-flea'd.
Obviously he won't take the place of Sheba in our hearts but make one of his own.
We are off to a pantomine tonight so my parents are coming half an hour before we leave so he can get to know them and then they are going to dog sit, including taking him for a walk.
They wouldn't take payment yet, he is on a two week trial with us, but i can't see there is any way we won't be keeping him, he's lovely.
Oh and the pic was the only one of a dozen that wasn't made fuzzy by him moving as he took the photo.
I still keep expecting to see Sheba but that's only to be expected for a while ... at least i can talk about her now without bursting into tears ... although the odd one does still escape now and then.
