Torchwood question

 Does anyone know the amount of years between series one and Children of Earth? I had an idea for a fic - the bunnies popped their heads out their burrows - and i need to try and work out how old his sisters kids would have been before the time of Cyberwoman?

I think about 2 to 2 1/2 years. When Jack was gone for the year between series 1 and 2 (the year that wasn't) it wasn't a year in Earth time. It is hard to judge the time span.

I'm thinking that one of the kids was maybe 4 or 5 and the other was a toddler ... it doesn't have to be exact but it needs to be while Lisa was still alive. I am guessing i shall have to go with a little poetic licence. And that year reset so yeah, it dossn't count.

I've been checking fan-made chronologies and from what they say that Jack was gone about six months between End of Days and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (not counting the Year that Never Was). If you go with those, then KKBB happened in June of 2008, and CoE happened during the school year in 2009. I know everyone's consensus seems to say July (when CoE was broadcast) but it would most likely have been in September. So, between EoD to CoE it was approximately one year and nine months.

I get my dates from Ianto's Desktop, if that helps.

So, is we go with CoE being in 2009 do you have any idea how old Rhi's kids were, approx? Torchwood first aired in 2006 so i need it to be before Ianto met Jack and has Lisa as his girlfriend - can you remember what year that was meant to be? My mind won't work with dates at the moment! This is meant to be a short one off but i'm not so sure it won't be longer now ...

According to the Torchwood Archives book, Ianto started work at Torchwood One sometimes in June/July 2005. So he had to have met Lisa between then and June 2006, when T1 falls (according to the timeline I have). I tried to look up the dates of birth for the actors playing David and Mica but had no luck, not even on IMDb, but if I had to guess I would say that Mica looked to be about six or seven, and David around ten or eleven. That's what I've been going with in my stories, anyway.

So, if i go with them meeting on 2005 that would make the kids around maybe 2 and 6 ... that can work i think. Hmmm, now i just need to work out some other logistics ... Ianto would have been ... 23 in 2005? Maybe?

Ianto was born 8/19/1983, so in 2005 he would have turned 22. You know, Ianto was so young to have gone through so much crap, I swear...

Aha, only a year out, better than i thought! And yes, so young. Shame this fic is gonna be rather angsty!
