I'm home!

Knackered, we barely stopped ...

Friday we checked into our gorgeous four star hotel in Kensington about 1pm and then headed off on foot to the Science Museum, about 15 mins walk away in the heat (we're not used to that we normally get rained on!) and went to the 3D movie about sharks and stuff ickle wanted to se last time but was sold out. (Up three millions stairs i might add to the IMAX theatre!!)

Then the ten minute walk to Harrords where contemplated that even if we had the £1,500 needed to by a gorgeous springer spaniel puppy Sheba would probably eat it ... went to the HMV and Waterstones in there and brought DVD's and books, had a drink in the cafe and an ice cream (tradition) and then down to the food hall to buy some Krispy cream doughnuts (6 ... we threw three away ...) then headed back to the hotel.

Got bored waiting in the boiling sunshine for a bus and got a cab, it was woth the £5 it cost! Bought drinks in Sainsburys and snuck KFC into the hotel for dinner before getting ready for the theatre.

'Chicago' was brilliant, loved every minute and hight reccommend it to anyone. Only thing i felt a little let down by was 'Mama' i felt she should have been more like the lovely curvy lady in the film, the one on stage was skinny and it seemed a little wrong ...

Got back to the hotel after 11pm and we talked for ages until we realised it was gone 1.30am and we had wanted to get up early the next day ... well, we made it out the hotel by 9.30am, headed off to Picadilly (stupid Victoria line closed) and walked up Regent Street stopping in Lush and Hamleys and then down Oxford Street in various shops ... more books and DVD's may have been purchased!

Bus back to Picadilly, walked through to Leicester Square and went to the movies (New X Men film), then to China Town where we both purchased new bags ... and a guy there where i bought a new watch strap told me my earrings were cool and wanted to know where i had got them! (Dangly skulls and crossbones with red 'ruby' eyes, few years ago in Camden)

Had dinner in 'Garfunkles' (Another tradition) and then back to the hotel knackered about 7pm ... out feet were killing us and it was hot hot hot ... by 10pm we just wanted to sleep.

Up at 8 this morning, packed cases, took them to left luggage at Victoria station and wento to Camden. Then back to Leicester Square on the tube, saw another movie (Night at The Museum 2) and then back to China town so ickle could buy a t shirt she hadn't the day before.

Decided to get a bus up Regent Street to Oxford Circus and walk the other end of Oxford street ... yeah, except it was blocked off for a 'Taste of Spain' thing ... argh ... boiling hot and crowds, not by idea of fun. Got to Oxford Circus and walked about 2/3 of the way, decided it was too hot and we were fed up and got a cab back to Victoria, ate and caught a train home ... which of course terminted 3 stops too soon due to engineering works and had to get the bus, finally got home about 6.15pm.

Phoned hubby saturday and discovered my son's fiancee and her mum had been in a car crash, both are fine, Melissa has wiplash but the baby is okay. They were sat at traffic lights and someone drove into them.

Phoned him today from the train and discovered a friend had died. She had suffered from a degenerative spine disorder, they moved to Spain a few years ago and the heat helped but the last year or so it had got worse and the cost of treatment finally brought them home a week ago.

They discovered she was riddled with cancer and she died yesterday, less than a week later, she was only 45. Her husband showed up here with their 4 kids earlier in a state as you can imagine but they were gone by the time we got home. A bit of a shock to say the least.

There will be a new chapter of 'New Horizons' posted in a little while, it's written and a new one of 'Unforeseen' either later or tomorrow.

I really really don't want to go to work tomorrow ...

Glad you enjoyed yourself in London. I know what you mean about the comparisons between stage and film in regards to mama, the mama we had in Edinburgh was quite a bit shorter than Queen Latifah and it felt really weird.

Sounds like a bunch of the places I'll be visiting when I'm there in September!

Condolences on the loss of your friend. At 40, someone just five years older seems far too young to have passed away.

It was in the 80's yesterday for our 5k autism walk. How hot was is there? All relative, I suppose!

*squees for new chapters*

Queen Latifah was brilliant in Chicago and hardly beatable I can imagine.

Sorry about the car crash and your friend *hugs*
I don't know whether one can say these are just moments where fate decides to strike but no matter what it is that is to blame these kind of things are always hard to experience.

YAY! I'm looking forward to New Horizons!^^

Glad you had a great time! I got about lunchtime from Brighton, The Barrowman was awesome!

I'm so sorry about the car crash and cancer attack.

I would love to say take a day off work, but I don't see that happening somehow! Like how I'd love to have an extra day off college! Stupid life stuff getting in the way of fun.

Night at the museum 2 is fantastic isn't it?? I saw it Friday, a bit Torchwood-y did you notice? There was running around storage crates and a pterodatyl and the scene at then with the plane, maybe it's just me lol!

Can't wait for another chapter of NH and Unforseen, whenever they pop up :)
