So, the company dealing with out insurance claim never called so hubby called the insurance people and discovered that the people used to deal with the actual claim said they hadn't received the email from the loss adjuster with the details/scans ... she left a message for the loss adjuster to sent them urgently ...
Then still nothing happened so hubby called then insurance company again who called the other company and they said they couldn't get hold of the loss adjuster, the guy said to huby he would be on the case all afternoon and would call us back, which he did later afternoon to say he had managed to get hold of the loss adjuster, got him to email him with the details and then emailed them to the company dealing with the claim and that they would be calling us today, result!
In the meantime we received a cheque as payment for the incidentals, like cash etc. basically the non electrial items minus the £200 excess fee which we've now banked ... there wasn't much left!
The company dealing with the claim did indeed call and confirmed the list but ... she didn't have the list of missing Wii games we gave the loss adjuster and so although she can start dealing with the claim she needs to chase him up again. If we don't hear by monday, he will be calling them again and hassling them as he's off camping a week monday and will be aay for almost two and a half weeks so we need this sorting before then
I must say that the actual insurance company - Direct Line - have been very efficent, none of this is down to them.
And i've had a VERY shit week at work, i'm still very upset over the events of the week and i am very angry at how it was handled and after much consideration and talking to friends and a colleague at work i am going to write to head office to air my grievences even if it gets me nowhere ... they want their customers to be happy, surely they need happy staff too? I'm not going to go into any detail as it will get me all upset again but if you want to know the in's and out's feel free to PM me for the basic details.
There is no point in trying to talk to the manager again about it, he made it very clear it was his decision and nothing i said would change the outcome, so i will go higher.
Is July over yet? I bloody well hope August is a darn sight better i can tell you!
I have very limited access to the one crappy laptop at the moment but i promise to try and catch up with replying to my comments soon - hopefully some over the weekend - and maybe even some more reading!
