First, i would like to thank everyone who sent me birthday wished and virtual gifts, they were very much appriciated and i will be replying to them all as soon as possible ... i am so so behind with replying to evrything at the moment and for that i apologise, all comments mean a lot to me and i read each and every one of them. I had a fantastic birthday, thanks to the following ...

I have been a fan of Adam Ant since way back in the 80's when i was a mere school kid of the tender age of about 13/14 ... and was way to young to be allowed to go and see him on stage in London. I got the chance to do so in '95 however and he was fantastic, but i never thought i would ever see him live on stage again as his illness - Bipolar - was ruling his life.

But then i heard tell of his doing secret little gigs around the country in preperation for a tour and then he was recording a new album ... then the dates were announced for the tour and to tell the truth, after all the rumours i had heard about his secret gigs and his antics on them i wasn't that excited about going to see him, and having already made plans to be in London three weeks earlier with my daughter i knew i would be broke and unable to afford it.

But a few days later hubby heard about it on the radio and asked if i was going, when i said no, and why he offered to buy me the ticket, pay for a hotel room and the train fare ... how could i say no? So, gig ticket was promptly paid for, along with the hotel and all i had to do was wait :) Adam's London gig was the night before my birthday, which was very handy ... i travelled up by train, getting into London a few hours before i could check into my hotel at 3pm so i could wander around a bit, visit The Forbidden Planet shop and the like and then have a late lunch before heading to the hotel.

I lazed around there for a while, watching TV and resting my feet as i had standing tickets at the Indigo2 at the o2 to see Adam and had arranged to find some people i knew i the pub opposite it called 'The Slug And Lettuce' and was told it would take me about half an hour to get to. I left my room at 6pm and headed off to the tube, knowing i needed the Northern Line and the Jubilee line ... the Jubilee line was packed solid, thanks to a problem on the tracks earlier - thanks for that - but i managed to get on the second train that arrived and it actually took me 45 mins to get there.

And then i couldn't find my friends ... i checked out the pub quickly - i hate going in pubs on my own - and couldn't see them, so i called and got no reply, so sent a text and then made the decision to go and join the already very long queue for Adam's gig and wait for a reply ... it never came - she had turned her phone on silent at work and forgot to change it! But no matter, i headed into the venue with everyone else and took a spot where i had a pretty good view but it was filling up fast. I never did spot her, but i did spot two other people i know ... but they were too far away to get their attention ... no matter, i got talking to a lovely couple that stood beside me, who had also been fans for a long time.

Adam was brilliant, he was on top form and his voice was strong. He was amazing, despite slipping and falling off the stage about three songs in! He played so much old stuff, lots of B sides, this made me so happy as it's nothing like the stuff that got into the charts and made him famous. He was on stage from about 9.20pm until 11pm ... but it felt like less than half an hour ... and he had his trademark two drummers ... Wonderful!

I finally got back to my hotel at about 11.45pm, on a high and very dehydrated as i hadn't drunk anything the whole time i was out ... ooops ... i forget to drink, not good i know ... so i downed the drinks i had in the room, watched a little TV until i had 'come down' and then tried to sleep ... hahaha!

The next morning i went to see Pirates Of The Caribean 4 - i loved it, one of the best i think, however the 3D was a little pointless for most of the film. Then i had two hours to kill before meeting the in-laws and hubby so i went for a wander again - strangly finding myself at the Forbidden Planet again and spending more money ... oooops ... then China Town where i bought the bag i had my eye on - it's so cool - and then to eat before the others arrived.

We went to a matinee performance of 'Chicago', i've seen it before. They liked, hubby how has been going on for ages about wanting to see it and chose it over Dirty Dancing decalred that it 'was okay but not one he'd want to see again' grrr ... i think they would have all like Dirty Dancing more.

Earlier in the month my daughter and i had spent 6 days in London, early for our birthdays as she now has uni exams, we saw Dirty Dancing' and 'Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert'. I loved Dirty Dancing, Priscilla was okay, but i think i like the film more.

We also went to the Allergy and Gluten Free show at Olympia, it was so worth it, we found out lots of stuff and she ate her way around trying all the samples, lol ... and to the Doctor Who Experience, which was brilliant ... but we were all alone, which was weird and it needed kids, to be a little scared at some of the interactive stuff, but we enjoyed it loads :)

About a week and a half ago, while out celebrating our daughers 21st birthday while having dinner, she and Lawrence announced their engagement - i already know, i am her mum after all and she tells me everything :)

And now the fun begins ... unfortunately they can't have the venue they wanted for their wedding reception as it's fully booked over Easter when they want to marry next year, but we have found another venue - it's not as elegant, but they like it, so at least that's sorted, as is the registar ... £400 just for the room at the registary office! She already has her dress - it's gorgeous and a dark royal blue colour - now we just have to think about everything else ... argh!!!

Anyways, i promised ickle that we would go out and have lunch today, so i best get showered and dressed ... i blame wrianojune for distracing me ... thanks for 'listening' :)
