Considering Ianto hadn't acquired the skills to make the best coffee in the universe Jack made them both a cup using the coffee machine and then led him through the hub to his office where they sat drinking it and eating biscuits.
“This tastes okay to me,” Ianto stated taking a sip of the coffee.
“Believe me, it's not a patch on the coffee magic you can normally work,” Jack told him with a smile, “it's like black heaven.”
“I'll take your word for it,” Ianto replied, feeling a small blush creeping onto his cheeks.
“So, Myfanway hasn't triggered any memories then?” Jack checked.
“No, nothing,” Ianto sighed, “nothing.”
“Well, then I thing we need to go on a proper tour of the hub and you can meet Janet,” Jack grinned.
“Janet … the … Weevil?” Ianto asked, unsure if he was remembering what Jack had told him right.
“Yes,” Jack nodded. “also the archives, the conference room.”
“Lets go then,” Ianto replied. “now I an convinced what you say is true, I really need my memories back.”
“Even the one where we are a couple?” Jack asked a little tentertively.
Ianto nodded. “Yep. I think so.”
“Right,” Jack said, getting to his feet. “lets not waste anymore time.”
Jack offered his hand to Ianto who took it and allowed the older man to pull him to his feet and found himself reluctant to let go. So he didn't and Jack continued to hold it as he led him into the archives.
“This place is huge,” Ianto stated, looking around at all the corridors, filing cabinets and boxes stacked around them.
“And it was a huge mess until you came here and get it into some kind of order,” Jack replied.
“Sounds strange since my mum is … was always going on about the state of my bedroom,” Ianto laughed lightly.
“You obviously got tidier once you had to fend for yourself,” Jack said.
“Possibly,” Ianto agreed. “take me to see Janet now?”
“Sure,” Jack replied, and still keeping hold of Ianto's hand they left the archives and went down to the cells.
“Ianto, Janet,” Jack said, stopping in front of the cell.
At first Jack just stood there, watching them as Ianto looked intently at her.
“A real alien?” Ianto whispered quietly, feeling a little mesmerised by the sight of her.
“You don't need to whisper,” Jack told him. “she won't bite. Well, she would bite but she can't locked away in there!”
“They're vicious?” Ianto asked.
“Yes,” Thankfully they do mostly confine themselves to the sewers,” Jack said, “but if the go rogue they will kill anything,”
Jack felt the younger man shudder next to him.
“She is no threat,” Jack assured him, “she can't get out.”
At that very second Janet decided it was the right time to let out a ear piercing roar and threw herself against the glass wall of the cell. Ianto let out a yell of surprise and leapt backwards, dragging Jack with him by the had.
“Fuck!” Ianto exclaimed loudly, visibly shaking.
Jack turned so they were facing each other, he placed his free hand on Ianto's arm.
“You're okay,” Jack told him soothingly.
“It was … I wasn't expecting it,” Ianto explained
“You're still shaking,” Jack said, taking a cautious step closer and moving his free hand to around Ianto's back, pulling him into a hug. Ianto froze for no more than a moment or two before relazing against the Captains body, resting his head on his shoulder as the shock of the fright Janet had given him wore off.
“You okay?” Jack asked, realising the effort Janet's actions would have had on Ianto's sixteen year old mind.
Ianto nodded against his chest and then lifted it to find himself looking straight into Jack's concerned eyes. “I'm fine.”
“Now that sounds like my Ianto,” Jack told him.
Ianto looked at him curiously.
“You say you are fine a lot,” Jack explained, “even when you're not.”
“Oh,” Ianto uttered.
The fact that Ianto hadn't attemped to move out of Jack's embrace Jack decided to risk kissing him. It was barely a brushing of their lips before be pulled away again.
“You didn't pull away,” Jack said quietly.
“No, I didn't,” Ianto replied.
“Did you like it?” Jack enquired.
“I … don't really know … it didn't last long,” Ianto admitted.
“So, I can kiss you again?” Jack asked.
Ianto nodded, not sure he would be able to say the words.
Jack once again pressed his lips to Ianto's kissing him softly, it wasn't long until the younger man began to respond. The kiss slowly deepened, their arms wrapping around each other tightly. Brushing his tongue over Ianto lower lip he was vaguely surprised when Ianto lips parted and allowed his tongue access to his mouth.
Jack found himself being pushed up against the wall, Ianto pressing hard against his body until they parted panting hard some minutes later.
“Sorry,” Ianto said simply.
“Sorry?” Jack asked. “Why would you be sorry?”
“I don't know what come over me,” Ianto admitted, “I've never even kissed a girl like that before.”
“Not your sixteen year old self, anyway,” Jack smiled. “I have no complaints.”
“I … it didn't … feel wrong,” Ianto explained and admitted, “I liked kissing you.”
“Well, that's a start,” Jack smiled. “perhaps your body is remembering me even if your mind isn't yet?”
“Yeah, could be,” Ianto told him thoughtfully.
“We should proberly leave the cells,” Jack suggested, realising that Janet was watching the closely.
“Not the most romantic place,” Ianto said, feeling his face heat up with the blush that crossed his cheeks as his own boldness.
