Ianto stood quietly in thought while Jack unlocked the front door to the flat he had apparently lived in with the older man before the accident then followed him in.

Go through,” Jack told him, trying not to get too excited at the idea of Ianto's memories maybe starting to return.

Ianto walked down the hallway passing a few closed doors and found himself in the living room.

This where I was waiting for you to come back,” Jack explained, “you only went out to get some milk. I fell asleep and didn't know anything until the next morning when Andy called me.”

Andy?” Ianto frowned for a moment, “Oh, the police officer?”

That's right, he called to tell me what had happened and that you were in hospital.” Jack replied.

Ianto nodded. “I was already unconscious when I got there?”

Yeah, they didn't know if you would ever come out of the comer, you gave me a real fright,” Jack admitted.

Sorry,” Ianto told him sadly.

Hey, no need to apologise, the accident wasn't your fault,” Jack reassured him. “the weather was awful, we should have just left the milk until the morning.”

In hindsight,” Ianto replied sadly.

Okay, no more on this subject,” Jack told him, “what's done is done, Is anything coming back to you?”

I'm not sure, I want to say that something seems kind of familiar about this room but to be honest, ut could just be wishful thinking,” Ianto admitted,

Then lets explore the rest of the flat,” Jack told him with a smile and led him to the kitchen.

Exactly the same coffee machine, just as you said,” Ianto smiled, “I could make us a cup, we never got to drink the last one.”

Maybe in a while, more to see first,” Jack replied and they headed out the room and into the bathroom where Ianto's abandoned toiletries were still awaiting his return in the bathroom cabinet.

Nice shower,” Ianto stated, looking closely to the large shower cubicle that had jets around the sides as well as the main shower head above.

Big enough for two,” Jack said without thinking.

Oh …” Ianto uttered quietly and felt his cheeks flush.

Right, last room,” Jack said quickly, leading him through the final door and into their bedroom.

It doesn't look like anyone has slept here for a while,” Ianto said quietly, glancing around the room.

I've been sleeping at the hub,” Jack admitted, “it didn't feel right, being here without you.”

I didn't realise,” Ianto replied quietly.

How would you know, I never said,” Jack told him.

I want to remember so badly,” Ianto confessed, “I can feel myself becoming attracted to you and because in my head I still feel like I am only nearly sixteen it's … confusing.”

I have an idea,” Jack told him, “why don't we stay here the night? Just order a takeaway and watch a film and well, maybe that might help?”

I'm not sure,” Ianto admitted.

I promise we won't do anything you're not ready for,” Jack replied, “You can have the bed and I will sleep on the sofa.”

Rhiannon will worry,” Ianto replied.

Call her and explain, she wants your memory to return as badly as the rest of us,” Jack urged him.

Yep, I could do that,” Ianto said, still feeling a little unsure but pulled his mobile from his pocket anyway.

I'll go and find a takeaway menu,” Jack said, wanting to give him some privacy, “pizza?”

Yeah, meat feast,” he replied instantly.

Jack walked away smiling, he knew that a meat feast pizza was Ianto's favourite kind.

Ianto found his sisters number in his mobile, his thumb hovering over it for only a second or two before he told himself to stop delaying it and called her.

Ianto, Hi!” Rhiannon answered quickly. “How's it going? Anything coming back to you?”

Maybe, sort of,” Ianto answered, “I think.”

What do you mean?” she questioned him.

It's hard to explain,” Ianto told her, not wanting to tell her about the kiss they had shared. “I called because I am going to stay with Jack in his … our flat tonight.”

Are you sure?” Rhiannon asked, sounding concerned, “Is he trying to … don't do anything you don't want to Ianto.”

We are just going to get a takeaway and watch a film,” Ianto explained, “Jack's promised to sleep on the sofa,”

Okay,” she replied, “but is you need to leave, call me and I will come and get you,”

Have you seen the weather out there?” Ianto replied, “We had trouble getting here in the SUV, you stay put and I will be fine.”

But Ianto ...” she began to reply.

Rhiannon, I am a grown man apparently, even of my head is telling me differently and I can deal with this, I promise.” Ianto stated.

Okay love,” she sighed, “call me in the morning?”

I will, bye.” Ianto told her, waited for her to say the same and then cut the call.

Slipping his phone back into his pocket Ianto walked towards the fitted wardrobes and opened one of the doors, opening one he found himself looking at clothes that obviously belonged to Jack, He closed the door and opened another one.

Inside he found suits and shirts, Jean, t-shirts and jumpers. He knew they must have been his. He pulled a few items out and looked at them, trying to find something familiar to him and then put them back. Pushing some of the shirts aside he realised there was a tie hanger hanging unseen between then and the t-shirts.

Reaching for he it took it out the wardrobe and slowly looked through them. There was something about one of them, he took it from the hanger and after placing the rest on the nearby bed he stood staring at it. It was silk and obviously much more expensive than the rest of the tie collection. It was a really deep red in colour with a faint self stripe that could be seen when tilting it in the light.

A memory hit him out of the blue and he sat down quickly on the bed as it flooded his brain. He was sat on the floor in pyjamas and next to him, attired the same was Jack, they were surrounded by the wrappings and boxes of opened Christmas presents and in his hands was the tie he was currently holding with a happy smile on his face as he leaned towards Jack and kissed him softly on the lips.

Ianto? Ianto? Are you okay?” Jack asked worriedly, seeing Ianto seemingly in a daze, “Iantoi talk to me? Is something wrong? Is it your head?”

Jack?” Ianto asked quietly, coming out of the memory.

Ianto? Are you okay, do I need to take you back to the hospital?” Jack urged.

No … I …” Ianto stuttered, holding up the tie. “this … you gave me this last Christmas, I remember!”

You remember?” Jack almost shouted with excitement.

Yep,” Ianto nodded, getting to his feet. “I looked at this and the memory flooded into my mind.”

That's just ...” Before Jack could finish Ianto kissed him softly on the lips.

Nothing else yet, but Jack, it felt so real, I know it's a real memory,” Ianto said with the happiness he felt in his voice, “please tell me it is a real memory?”

Yeah, yes,” Jack grinned. “It is.”

This is a good sign, isn't it?” Ianto asked hopefully.

It is, it is,” Jack agreed, pulling the younger man into a long, tender kiss until the sound of the doorbell interrupted them.

That will be the pizza,” Jack told him.

I'm starving,” Ianto told him with a grin, “better go and open the door.”

Jack nodded and headed out the room. Ianto looked at the tie, amazed that something seeming so insignificant had made such an impact on his memory before putting it back on the hanger and into the wardrobe before walking out the room and joining Jack in the living room for pizza and a film.
